The Snake Pit
Welcome to another exciting season of racing at Medicine Hat BMX! This
season promises to be a busy one improving the track and our new moto shed.
Plans are in the works to finish the irrigation system and finish the interior
of the moto shed. Since we moved up to the new track back in 2000 this is the
first time that we do not have a Provincial, so the board decided to take this
time and work on the track. So if anyone has any time to donate please come on
out and give us a hand! A tentative date has been set for our Annual General
Meeting – April 20, 2008 once this has been confirmed an email will be sent with
date, time & location. It’s important that all members attend as elections will
take place and the bylaws will be finalized. It’s your club and everyone has a
say! If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas please do not hesitate to
talk to your Board members. We are trying to get enough members to host our own
Commissaires course instructed by Jim Negenman. With this course you will learn
rules and regulations, moto building and obtain a Level C licence. With this
license you will be able to work the Provincial circuit if needed. If anyone is
interested, please contact Rob Storie @ 527-3634 or 548-4738 Here’s to a great
season of warm weather and a fast track!

Note from the Track Operators
Hello BMXers, a new season is coming upon us and we meaning Fran D, Kim, and
Fran J. are looking forward to a great season for all returning and new riders.
Please keep in mind all last years’ licenses have expired Dec 31/2007. So if you
are new rider, we will need a photocopy of the riders’ birth certificate. For
all returning riders, you just simply fill out a new form. The first Provincial
is coming up on Feb 17, 2008 in Morley so all riders wishing to race must have
license in hand. We will be sending licenses in batches in the next coming weeks
so please notify us as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you all at
the track!

Please join me in congratulating Fran Duhaime on her recent promotion to Hall
Manager of Gold Rush Bingo. Through her hard work and perseverance she has moved
up the ranks to her present position in a relatively short time. She acts as a
liaison between our Club and the Bingo Hall as well. Best wishes to Fran on her
new endeavor!
